Dorkism of Last Week

Last Saturday after Tim's very inspiring birthday concert, a few of us decided to go for late night eats. In the parking lot, Kenric suggested Congee Wong at Kennedy & Hwy 7..then later changed it to Keung's (which is the 'usual place'). I didn't know of a Keung's at that plaza, but oh well there must be if he was going to suggest it right? So I'm the last to pull out of the parking lot and I drive leisurely across town (from 9th Line & 14th Ave.). I pull into the plaza and - LAND HO! There's a restaurant named Keung's there!! Although this one had a red sign - not like the usual green signage that all the Keung's franchises had. Hmm, I thought - I wonder how they knew of this restaurant - it seems more like a mom & pop shop instead. I walk in and the waitress asks me how many were in my party - I told her that my friends were already here. So I scan the room for them - no one was there. Maybe they decided to go to Congee Wong instead. So I sheepishly walk out of the restaurant and walk outside. I call Kenric's cell - Kenric, where are you? He said he just turned into the bank and was getting money. He'd be there momentarily. Oh ok, I thought, so it WAS the right restaurant, and the others haven't arrived yet. Wow! I felt proud that for once I was the first one there! So, reassured, I walk back into the restaurant, ready to order a table for 6 and I stand there waiting for the waitresses/hostesses to ask me again. This time they're ignoring me and serving the other tables. Wait...wait....I was about to call out and order the table when Kenric calls me again. "Anita, where are you??" "I'm at Keung's". "No you're not, everyone is here sitting at the table - you're not here." "Oh, which Keungs are you talking about?" "The one by the church - the one you ALWAYS go to.." "Oh. That one."

So now again, I sheepishly walk briskly out the door and straight into my car. And drive down Warden to walk into the Keung's...the last one there. Whoops.
